Basic Smart Home Technology Training:

A smart home, or smart house, is a home that incorporates advanced automation systems to provide the inhabitants with sophisticated monitoring and control over the building's functions.

Any device in your home that uses electricity can be put on your home network and at your command. Whether you give that command by voice, remote control, tablet or smartphone, the home reacts. Most applications relate to lighting, home security, home theater and entertainment, and thermostat regulation.

The demand for professional smart home installation is increasing every day as more and more home buyers and current home owners decide that they would like their homes to be smart homes. Parks Associates says, that in the year 2017, an estimated $30.5 billion will be spent on smart home installation.

In fact, the smart home products market is expected to double by the year 2017.Somebody has to install all of this new technology and more often than not, it’s not a DIY smart home installer. This means that there will be a need for the services of many more professional smart home installers as well as a need for those working in the housing field to be as knowledgeable as possible about smart homes and smart home installation.

Information about smart homes and the advantages of smart home professional installation should be in every professional realtor’s “toolbox.” As technically advanced and integrated homes become more and more in demand, it will be necessary for real estate professionals to learn as much as possible about smart home technology and for realtors to keep current with changes in the field.

After all, homes with an excellent smart home installation and exciting technical features are in high demand now and will be even more in demand in the future. There are a great many technology savvy individuals, perhaps people who are now working in other fields, who have a smart home installation on their resume, and may even have done more than one such installation.

After all, anyone who has experience with smart home design will be sought out by friends and neighbors who have a similar desire to update their homes. If you are one of those people who are technology savvy, and have some smart home setup or smart home construction experience, or if you are already an electrical contractor or own a security business or have experience in the HVAC industry, there may be room in the smart home installation market for you to make some extra money or to start a new business.

Not only will many new smart home installers be needed every year, but there will also be a need for those who can market and sell smart home installation services. And, of course, there will be a greater need for realtors with knowledge and experience with smart homes.
